WEF awarded this grant as initial funding for the Leaf Pack Network project. The project was designed to allow students to conduct field research on the health of macro-invertebrate species in local streams. Because macro-invertebrates are highly sensitive to changes in water quality, the study of these creatures gives valuable insight into conditions in local waters. Participating in the Leaf Pack Network allows students to track data over time.
