In 2019, WEF awarded a grant to Hurlbutt Elementary School teacher Briahna Guertin for the purchase of a QBall. The Qball is a portable, throwable microphone designed to encourage young students to feel comfortable about participating in classroom discussions, while also reinforcing listening behaviors in a fun and positive way. The unbreakable composition of the Qball makes it especially useful for early learners, since they don’t have to worry about “dropping the mic”!
