Pathways Academy Teacher Team
Congratulations to the Pathways Academy Teacher Team at Weston High School – the recipients of the 2023 Weston Education Foundation David Trigaux Innovation Award!
The Pathways team works tirelessly to address the social-emotional specific needs impeding student learning and advancement. The team is constantly adjusting their daily lessons and activities to support the students’ engagement and academic and social development.
In the words of Assistant Principal Juli Givone, each member of the team has “committed themselves fully to the promise of meeting and engaging students where they are while supporting their access to all of the benefits of Weston High School. The small setting allows the team to meet students’ unique needs, and creates flexibility for teachers to plan, engage, monitor, and adjust in a way that supports the building of relationships and the fostering of meaningful connections between the content areas. A glimpse of the energy, commitment, and relentless positivity on the part of this teacher team can lead anyone to the conclusion that they are the picture of innovation in education, and the very reason why some kids come to school every day.”
WEF extends our warmest thanks to the team made up of Barbara Caracciolo, Michael Chappa, Jamie Charles, Trinity Klein, Erin LeBris, Ioanna Opidee, Christopher Sadler, Kara Swezey and Lisa Coggins. The team collaborates tirelessly to support students’ engagement and academic and social development – a true treasure at WHS!
